We were lucky enough to sit down with Nottingham based pop rockers, Adelphia and talk music, their new single, Red Bull Studios & more!
What does Adelphia offer the rock scene in Nottingham? Do you enjoy much of the music/venues in the local area?
We offer a more melodic and clean act, there’s a large amount of scream/hardcore bands around the Nottingham area and people have mentioned it’s nice to have a band that purely do clean music. saying that, more clean bands are coming through on the local rock scene so hopefully that picks up!
What can we expect from your new single ‘If I Fall’, what were your motivations in writing the single?
If i fall is our statement for growing as a band. we have progressed massively since our EP ‘Fingers burnt and lessons learnt’ and i think if i fall reflects the direction we plan to take as well as being more thought out and fun to play.
What has been your favourite gig experience so far? Was Download festival your biggest crowd?
I’ll answer both with the same show haha personally a life goal has been to play main stage Rock City, Nottingham because it’s been the heritage for all shows we went to growing up and shaped up with bands we loved. Hit The Deck 2014 granted us the opportunity to open the main stage and although nick was unwell for the set, we all had an amazing time playing to around 1,000 people! none of us will ever forget that and although Download was obviously an amazing experience, we were on the same time as a secret band who managed to pull a lot of the people that would’ve normally come to see us.
How did you find your Red Bull Studios recording? Would you recommend the experience?
The Red Bull experience in entirety was unreal! we got to spend a day with Don Broco and get to know some useful things from them, recording there was a massive experience for us and we overindulged in Red Bull which resulted in us learning when to stop drinking energy drinks haha.
the team at Red Bull were amazing to us and treated us like royalty, some of the nicest people we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and it’s been great to stay in touch with them over the remaining months of the year.
What are some of your own favourite bands in the UK & beyond? Do you have any dreams bands you’d love to tour with?
We all like bands like You Me At Six, Mallory Knox, Deaf Havana, Lower Than Atlantis etc. the british rock scene is incredible right now alongside bands like The 1975, Don Broco and other bands with a bit more groove.
We would love to tour with any of the bands mentioned above, it would be a huge honour for us.
