Torres Coming Back to Boston – January 22, 2016

TORRES will be returning to Boston at Great Scott on January 22, 2016.

TORRES‘ sophomore album, Sprinter, is filled with fiercely confident, personal songwriting from 24 year old, Georgia-bred, Brooklyn-based Mackenzie Scott. Suffused with a keen awareness of Scott’s place in her family and in the world, it’s at times frail and quiet, and at other times rich, powerful, emotional and vicious. Rob Ellis (PJ Harvey) produced, and the studio band included Adrian Utley from Portishead on guitar (also recorded in his studio), and Ian Olliver (PJ Harvey’s bassist) on bass. After being featured as one of TIME’s “2015 Bands to Watch,” the debut single of TORRES’ Sprinter was included in best songs of the week lists on Vulture, Stereogum and Consequence of Sound; Billboard, Pitchfork & Rolling Stone ran single reviews. She was one of the most talked about up & coming artists of this year’s SXSW, receiving attention from The New York Times, NPR Music, Newsweek, Rolling Stone & more.
