Houston-based indie alt-rock-progressive band Vox Vocis have released a new track called “A Fire Favored,” the second single from their upcoming release, In The Arms Of The Sun, dropping on January 22nd.

Speaking about the track, frontman Alex Vaquera comments: “It’s a song about the end of something and second guessing whether or not it could have been prevented. Writing it was my way of coping when I was feeling down in a new city.”

With a sound that pays homage to acts like Coheed and CambriaThe Dear Hunter, and The Mars Volta, the band will release their first full-length, In the Arms of the Sun on January 22nd. The album was produced and recorded by Stephen Adwell of AMR Studios, and mastered by Mike Watts (Theory of a Deadman, The Dear HunterStory of the Year).

Voc Vocis has a great sound that I think will appeal to the masses, and this track could easily appear on mainstream radio. I know one thing, they’ve gained me as a fan! Give it a listen and let us know what you think:
