UK-based freelance illustrator and designer, Martyn Dawson (aka Stationjack) is an “80’s child” who is greatly influenced by the films and music of that era. He funnels this inspiration into the creation of impressive nostalgic pop culture t-shirt designs. Martyn is a pro – having studied art and design at Loughborough College – and his love of designing retro and vintage styles lends perfectly to the subjects at hand.
When not expanding his online stores or being featured on t-shirts sites such as TeeFury, Ript Apparel and Qwertee, Martyn experiments in other creative fields playing the bass guitar and snapping photography. But it’s the film buff side to Martyn we’re focusing on today, and in particular a collection of Star Wars inspired pieces.
Martyn’s online stores offer a great variety of Star Wars inspired designs and his Christmas themed design and Millennium Falcon design have been featured previously on IndieMinded tee round-ups. You’ll also discover Star Wars mash-up designs, retro “badge” emblem designs and retro adverts. I was sold on the promotional pieces from the moment I saw them!
