Time Waits by The Breaking.
We are thrilled to bring to you the premiere of the new video from Portland, OR-based indie alt-rock band The Breaking called “Time Waits,” a track that appears on their self-titled LP, dropping on February 24th.
When asked about the new track, singer & guitarist Adam Sweeney had this to say?
“Time Waits is all about reconciling the dreams of youth with the realities of adulthood. It’s about learning to find the good in a life that maybe didn’t turn out how you planned. It’s about the futility of trying to outrun time, but also about seizing the moment.
As a band we draw a lot of inspiration from the alternative rock of the 90s, and this song is no exception. I was in high school during the mid-90s, and when it came time to produce the video, I felt really strongly about trying to capture a feeling of nostalgia from my youth.
We worked with director Phil Gerke, who I think managed to capture a look that pays tribute to that era with subtle details like the polaroid camera, the BMX bike, and the old comics books. Our actor, Mac Strong, has an uncanny resemblance to myself when I was 13 or 14 years old – if you saw our pictures side-by-side you’d swear we were related! We even filmed the opening sequence next door to the house I grew up in. I’m pretty stoked about that.
Between the song and the video, I think we’ve created something that could be uniquely familiar to folks of a certain age.”
