Lions and Tigers & Almost Famous Friends Split EP
Check out the brand new split EP from Austin-based artists Lions and Tigers & Almost Famous Friends, a collaboration that spans from this great new EP to their joint EP release show (details below).
The new EP boasts four tracks, two from each band, and if you’re a fan of bands such as Yellowcard, Jimmy Eat World, Citizen, The Story So Far, or Relient K (or even if you’re not), then you’re sure to love this new release.
Tristan Wilson of Almost Famous Friends says this about the split EP: “For me, this pair of songs is really an exploration of new experiences mixed with nostalgia. In the Fall of 2016 I relocated to Denver for college and had to overcome the idea that I was isolated and somewhat lost. It took some time, but I began to realize I was on a path of discovering new things; developing a different perspective of the world we live in. With “InTune” I explored that idea of being lost and kinda stuck in the past and day dreaming too much. “Displaced” got me out of that state of mind by realizing that while aspects of society and life make you uncomfortable, those experiences enable personal growth. As with all our music, we hope that fans can relate to these themes in a way that impacts their lives positively.”
Alex Maranto of Lions and Tigers shares this about the split EP: “This split is a special project for all of us. I think for both bands it represents progression- the evolution of our sound and our songwriting, as well as our mindsets. Songwriting is therapeutic and deeply personal. The goal for us is to be as honest as possible in our music, with hopes that writing about our own struggles may help somebody else through theirs.”
I love the idea of a split EP like this, and hope to see more artists following suit in the future:
