“As a father of a 4 year girl, I knew when I started Deli Fresh Threads I wanted to have kid shirts. I had brainstormed a bunch I wanted to do later on as the brand grew.

I’ve been fortunate to work with Lain Lee III during the beginning process of starting Deli Fresh Threads. As we were bouncing back ideas on branding Lain drew a toothpick flag and I mentioned to him it looked like a Drum Majors staff and I could see a sandwich holding it like in a parade. He got inspired and a little bit later emailed me the design for Sandwich Parade.
As soon as I saw it I loved it and I knew this needed to be my 1st kids shirt.

I went with the light blue shirt since its a great color for the Summer! The whole idea of eating a sandwich is like a parade- The excitement before the parade starts (thinking about the sandwich); the float (the sandwich on a plate), the music (the sound you make after taking a bite of a good sandwich), the Joy (of eating a sandwich!).”

German cult band NO MORE releases an official video of the original 1981 version of SUICIDE COMMANDO:

NO MORE became known through the genre-busting indie-classic “Suicide Commando”, a title that since its appearance in 1981 has not only been included in numerous compilations but was also placed again and again in the limelight in remixes by DJ Hell, Vitalic and Echopark.

So the song remains to this day an essential part of many DJ sets, from Dark Wave to Electroclash, from EBM to Post Punk, from Electronica to Indierock.

“These guys are, quite literally, legends. Original contemporaries of Kraftwerk, they released their seminal single SUICIDE COMMANDO in 1981, the same year that Kraftwerk released their what is commonly regarded as their last great album “Computer World”.

The big K’s influence on NO MORE’s dark brand of electronica is clear, but with “SUICIDE COMMANDO, NO MORE also managed to intelligently and subtly add punk to the mix. It’s always impressive when a band go full circle and have the presence of mind to use the music of those they’ve influenced to re-invigorate their own sound.”

There’s been a lot of Boston Pride rolling through the region as of late due to the Boston Marathon Bombings last month, and this is no different. A slew of local musicians got together to record a charity single recently, which will help raise money for the One Fund Boston organization.

This project was conceived by Lisa Azizian and John Shea of Almost Famous on 95.9 WATD FM.  The idea was to bring local artists together to cover the song “Dirty Water” by The Standells in an effort to raise money for the One Fund Boston.  All proceeds from the song will go directly to The One Fund, to support the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.
