If I Could by Jase & Stace

Brooklyn-based indie soul-jazz-rock duo Jase & Stace are pleased to release their new track called “If I Could,” and we are equally as pleased to premiere it for you here today.

Jase (Ewald) & Stace (Werdin) met back when they were in a soul band together. They instantly bonded over their love and passion of 70’s music and started writing together soon after. Their sound is truly modern, but will at times bring you back to the soulful music of the 70’s (er… well… if you’re old enough to remember those days).

About “If I Could,” –

“If I Could” is about being in a relationship that is caught in a toxic loop. You try to leave but continuously become hypnotized by this person’s charm which only seems to appear when you try to do just that. We are both one hundred percent involved in the writing of our songs. If one of us happens to feel the fire at any particular moment the other one will fan it and get it glowing bright.”

“This is the first song we wrote together and we were pulling from our past relationship goodie bag. At the time we were listening to a bunch of soul jazz and rehearsing near the beautiful Gowanus Canal.”

Jase & Stace have a unique sound, and I cannot wait to hear what else they’ve got up their sleeves. Give the track a listen, and as usual – let us know what you think:
